The space
Some cabins are a place to sleep between adventures. Captain John Smith is where the adventure happens. Spread across two floors with a wraparound deck that earns its own itinerary, this 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin sleeps up to 6 and was built for the kind of trip where everyone has room to breathe. Families, friend groups, two couples traveling together – this cabin handles all of it without anyone feeling cramped. The pool table gets competitive. The fire pit goes late. The deck becomes where mornings actually happen. And the forest that surrounds you makes it all feel miles away from everything, even though you’re minutes from it.

Rent all three together and your group can spread comfortably across up to 12 guests, each cabin with its own private hot tub or outdoor living space. 📍 One Thing Worth Knowing
Captain John Smith sits close to Hwy 259, which puts everything Hochatown has to offer right at your doorstep. You may notice some light road noise, particularly in the evenings. Most guests find the crackling fire pit and the sound of the pines do the rest, but we believe in setting expectations upfront. If you’re a light sleeper, a white noise app or a fan works perfectly.
